Hulu Picks Up ‘The Killing Kind’, The Cat And Mouse Thriller Series From Sony-Backed Eleventh Hour That Was A Paramount+ UK Original
May 2024

Sony-backed prodco Eleventh Hour Films made the show and Sony Pictures Television is across international sales and inked the Hulu deal. The six-hour series will bow in the U.S. on May 14.

The Killing Kind was originally a Paramount+ Original and commissioned out of the UK. It was one of several local Paramount+ dramas that launched only to be yanked from the streamer overnight earlier this year, much to the ire of viewers, as Deadline reported in Feb.

The series follows Ingrid Lewis, a successful defense attorney who successfully defends a client, John Webster, against stalking charges. They subsequently have a brief relationship, which ends badly, only for him to come back into her life a year later. When a colleague is run down, Webster claims he is the only one who can protect her from the killer, setting up a deadly game of cat and mouse.

Emma Appleton (The Witcher) plays Lewis, and Colin Morgan (Humans) stars as Webster. Screenwriters Zara Hayes (Showtrial) and Jonathan Stewart (Meet You In Hell) penned the adaptation, with the former directing.

“We are delighted that The Killing Kind is set to launch on Hulu in the U.S.,” said Eve Gutierrez, Executive Producer and Head of Talent and Paula Cuddy, Creative Director, at Eleventh Hour Films. “It’s the perfect home for our sexy, edge of the seat, rollercoaster thriller – with mesmerizing performances from Emma Appleton and Colin Morgan.”
